The Richfield Foundation formed the RPS Fund (now RPS Foundation) in 1997 to support programs, services and activities within the Richfield Public Schools. Since then, $87,000 in mini-grants has been awarded to support a variety of educational enrichment activities within the schools.

Some examples of projects that have won funding in the past include:
- Take-home books and educational games
- Elementary student participation in the Science Museum of Minnesota’s Creativity Festival
- K-8 “Super Science Night”
- Week-long Poet in Residence at Richfield Middle School
- Student-planned Asian New Year’s celebration
- RMS and RHS jazz bands - “Jam session” with professional jazz musicians
- Participation of RHS Student Government representatives in the “StrengthQuest” leadership development survey
- Theater @ Three Program (after school performance classes and workshops)

Twenty-three Richfield DECA students participated in the 2008 DECA Districts Competition at the Radisson Hotel in Plymouth.
